The Graduate School of Industry is comprised of seven master’s programs in engineering, in addition to the CEO program, CKO program, and e-Business program. The master’s programs offer night courses with special emphasis on working-level knowledge of industrial fields in consideration of the majority of the students as industrial workers, while maintaining courses on theory, lab, and thesis research comparable to other graduate programs. The CEO program and CKO program focus on education on topical issues for corporate leaders and executives and administrators of public institutions, aiming to cultivate their competence and capacity to contribute to the development of industrial society as part of academic-industrial cooperation. The e-Business program also offers a variety of programs with emphasis on plant management and professional skills demanded by industries, serving as a foundation for the retraining of business administrators.

The Graduate School of International Studies at Ajou University was established in 1996 as a pioneer of professional studies programs in Korea. The founding motivation of Ajou GSIS was to meet the growing global demand for international academic institute. At present, the Ajou GSIS has over 300 alumnus in more than 50 countries worldwide, who are working at government agencies and global enterprises and playing an important roles in their respective positions.

Currently, GSIS offers four majors in International Business, International Trade, NGO studies and Korean Studies.

The Graduate School of Information and Communication was founded in 1997 for the first time in Korea as Ajou University separated it from the College of Engineering and the College of Natural Sciences to efficiently foster professionals and facilitate research activities in information and communication. The division of information and computer engineering in the Graduate School of Information and Communication is equipped with specialized research and educational systems and programs essential to cultivate manpower in computer system, information and communication, software and applied industries.

The Undergraduate program in information and communication at Ajou University has been operating efficiently as a specialized division of information and communication. However, the graduate program has existed as part of the division of computer engineering in the graduate school, achieving limited success in producing specialized experts in the area and proving a necessity to efficiently cultivate experts with working-level competence in the information and communication field in Korea. Under the circumstances as such, the Ajou Graduate School of Information and Communication was founded in September 1999 when it was named a participant of the BK21 information technology development program.

Architectural Engineering
The architectural engineering program offers a world-class architectural engineering education through a 4-year architectural structure, architectural construction, and construction management program. It aims to cultivate architectural engineers and skilled managers with the systematic comprehensive mindset and working-level competence in solving problems.

Architecture(5 year-system)
The architecture program offers intensive courses on 5-year architectural planning and designing based on the certification criteria for international architectural education in accordance with the international trends The program trains students in theories related to architectural planning, architectural design, urban residential and complex planning, urban planning and development, and facility management along with applied knowledge. In addition, it provides students with customized practical education for the direct application to practice. It also offers an efficient curriculum that allows students to proceed with a Master’s degree in architecture within a year through an accelerated graduate education program after the 5-year professional education.

Transportation Systems Engineering
Transportation systems engineering is a discipline that scientifically and technologically studies the planning, design, operation, and management of all transportation facilities for safe, convenient, and efficient transport of humans and goods, such as road, railroad, harbor, and air traffic. The transportation systems engineering majors study to gain a wide range of knowledge in transportation engineering in general and learn advanced theories to cultivate the capacity to formulate rational solutions for urban, local, and international transportation problems. Upon graduation, students are likely to join transportation-related national research institutes local governments, engineering companies, and government-funded institutions.

Environmental Engineering
Environmental engineering is a discipline that studies various solutions for environmental pollution caused inevitably by industrialization and urbanization. The environmental engineering program aims to cultivate competent experts in environmental fields who can identify and solve environmental problems. Environmental engineering majors have the opportunity to take the qualifying exam for the grade-1 technician in water quality, atmosphere, air, and wastes fields. Environmental engineering graduates works in environment offices, local governments, engineering companies, anti-pollution facilities business, and environment management fields.

Applied chemistry & Biological Engineering
Applied chemistry & Biological Engineering, a convergence program born in 2008 by integrating applied chemistry and bioscience majors, has prepared itself to cope with the future industries and established itself as a unique division that can carry out education and research for the application, convergence, and industrialization of chemistry and bioscience. The division offers various courses on basic concepts and engineering knowledge in chemistry and bioscience for lower-year students and more intensive courses related to chemistry and bio engineering, such as medicine, bio energy, medicinal materials, nano, fermentation, and nanobio for upper-year students, aiming to foster industrial engineers with professional engineering knowledge. After graduation, students are active in a wide variety of sectors in the biological and chemical industry, such as electronics, materials, pharmacy, medicine, food, cosmetics, environment, and energy.

Chemical Engineering
Our mission is to produce scholars and chemical engineers equipped with creative adaptability in the industrial world. It will provide a pivotal role in the development of chemical engineering by educating students with the fundamentals to carry out creative activities. In addition, our curriculum provides various courses which cultivate the students’ personality so that they can actively respond to the ever-changing society and technologies. Chemical Engineering graduates either continue their education in graduate school or pursue a career in various industries. Those who jump their careers begin in a variety of areas including oil refinery, petrochemical engineering, electro-chemical engineering, development of energy sources, and materials science. For those who continue their studies in graduate school to earn either a master’s or a doctoral degree, they have a wide opportunity to improve their researches in an academic circle or public and corporate research institutes.
